"Awareness is the first step towards prevention."

Prevention and Early Treatment

Preventing deformational plagiocephaly requires three things:

  • Early detection and diagnosis by a Physician and/or specialist.
  • Early evaluation for possible neck muscle imbalance.
  • Early intervention with repositioning and neck flexibility and strengthening exercises.

Many parents of babies with deformational plagiocephaly report that they noticed the abnormal headshape either at birth or within the first month of life.  Further, many noticed that within days of birth, their baby favored turning their head to one direction more than the other.  Therefore, if the baby is observed carefully and evaluated at the first onset of either of these symptoms, then prevention is very possible.

Our Heads UP Baby™ DVD and instructional booklet are designed to help you achieve the above three things. Click here to order!
